About the Herbst Library: General Information Welcome to The Herbst Library at the Urban School of San Franciso. The library is an information resource center. It supports the school's philosophy of instilling in students a life-long love of learning. The mission of the library media program is to ensure that students are information literate. Please check out all books. If the librarian is in the library and available, ask the librarian to check out the book. If the librarian is not in the library, you may borrow a book by printing your name on the card inside the book, date stamping the card and book, and putting the card in the Book Drop. Your student ID with the addition of a Barcode label is your library card. If a book you want is out on loan, reserve it at the circulation desk. What can be borrowed by students?
Return books in the Book Drop to the left of the check out window. Fines - Fines are not charged. However, if a book is lost or not returned by the end of the term, the charge for the lost book is the replacement cost, plus a $10.00 processing fee. What can be borrowed by teachers?
